Filing overtime work hours involves documenting the additional hours worked beyond the standard work schedule. This process typically includes recording the start and end times of overtime, specifying the tasks performed, and obtaining necessary approvals. It is important for accurate compensation, compliance with labor laws, and monitoring employee workload. Properly filed overtime hours ensure fair compensation and adherence to labor regulations.
To file for overtime, you typically need to follow the procedures set by your employer. Here are some general steps you might need to take:
Timekeeper filing of employees' daily overtime hours work. The filing is grouped by the department for every daily overtime and the timekeeper can file multiple names in one entry with the same OT start time and end time. Click the "Submit" button to add the entries that automatically compute the workhour distribution like regular hours (REG), night differential (ND), overtime (OT), and overtime + night differential (OTND). To proofread the overtime entries, click the "View PDF" button and double-check the overtime entry before requesting approval.
Click the "Overtime Request Approval" button if the overtime data capture is already finished and need to attach the supporting overtime document in a pdf format.
Self-service online overtime filing is also available in the system where HR staff give an HRIS employee user login account to file their overtime hours work and request overtime review & approval.
